教學目標 Course Objectives:

1. To introduce students to a selection of important authors and works from world literatures written or translated into English 2. To acquaint students with the historical contexts and cultural backgrounds of these literary woks 3. To train students to make primary research, oral presentation and written report on literary topics  4. To enhance students’ ability of independent, original, critical and creative thinking 5. To arouse students’ interest for contemporary cultural trends and involve them in cultural activities

  2. Students’ oral presentations on story outlines of the selected texts
  3. The instructor’s lectures on specific issues and literary themes
  4. The instructor’s multimedia supplements related to lecture topics, including painting, photography, movies, music, magazine article excerpts, cultural activities’ flyers, etc
