教學內容 Course Outline
課程概述 Course Description:
This course will focus on allowing all learners to improve their abilities in both listening and speaking. The students in this class will be expected to show up for class on time and participate in all class activities. There will be numerous opportunities for students to have their listening and speaking assessed in the form of homework assignments, oral presentations, class activities, as well as exams.
教學目標 Course Objectives:
The objectives for this class are as follows: 1. To improve students’ ability in listening in English. This includes listening accuracy and listening comprehension. 2. To improve students’ ability in spoken English. This includes all areas of speaking such as fluency, accuracy, pronunciation, intonation, tone, speed, and so on. 3. To give students the opportunity to improve their listening and speaking abilities in an environment that encourages participation, improvement, and critical thinking.

These numbers are subject to change based on class dynamics. All students will be expected to come to class on time and to attend class regularly. Failure to attend class regularly will severely affect your grade. Moreover, all students are expected to participate in all class activities, discussions, and to complete all presentations. The more you get involved in the class, the more you will improve.

The midterm exam will be a pen and paper test that focuses on a number of aspects covered in class. We will discuss it more as a class. The final exam will be a group role play that will assess students' speaking and listening. This will also be discussed in class as a group.
