課程概述 Course Description：
The course starts from the literary background of the Middle Ages and ends in that of the 18th century. In the first semester, the reading materials cover introductions of Anglo-Saxon Literature, Anglo-Roman Literature, and Middle English Literature in the 14th and 15th centuries. In this semester, the focus lies in the Elizabethan age, the 17th century, the restoration and the 18th century. The classical literary works of the writers during these periods, such as William Shakespeare, John Donne, John Milton and others, are also introduced.
