課程概述 Course Description:
This is a one-year course, which is designed to be the first part of the history of English Literature. It aims to help students understand the historical background of English Literature in order to learn English literary works well.

In the first semester, the reading materials cover introductions of Anglo-Saxon Literature, Anglo-Roman Literature, and Middle English Literature in the 14th and 15th centuries. In this semester, the focus lies in the Elizabethan age, the 17th century, the restoration and the 18th century.
