教學內容 Course Outline

課程概述 Course Description：

This course is to familiarize students with different kinds of English teaching pedagogies and their basic philosophies of teaching English to speakers of other languages. The students are strongly encouraged to develop an eclectic view of teaching methodologies and create a unique teaching approach that suits their teaching philosophy and their students’ needs. In this course, the students will become acquainted with teaching methods of English along the history, design teaching materials, and organize lesson plans. Throughout the semester, the course will be conducted by the format of lecture and discussion, oral presentation, and written metacognition analysis.

教學目標 Course Objectives：

In this course, students will be trained to: (1) Be familiar with and employ major teaching methodology in English language teaching. (2) Be aware of the recent development of English education. (3) Be able to adapt to the core-competences perspective of the latest national Curriculum Guideline. (4) Be creative to design pedagogically-sound teaching materials and lesson plans.
