一、教學目標:
This is a one-semester course targeted to improve students’ English proficiency and communicative skills. Taking the course, students will learn the following skills.
(1.) Students will learn English GEPT intermediate to high-intermediate level vocabulary, with an emphasis on English for art purposes.
(2.) Students will learn about art occupations, international art festivals, art history and advertisement all over the world through reading articles and watching videos.
(3.) Students will learn basic presentation skills for introducing themselves and their works in English that could prepare them for successful job decision and application.

四、實施方法:講授、討論
The course consists of lectures, task-based learning (TBL) sessions, paired and individual presentations. Learning is first achieved by principle lectures, then practiced through TBL activities and presentations, and completed with mid-term and final exams. The language focus will be on English for art and aesthetic purposes. Students will learn art-related vocabulary, art history and festivals in English, and be able to write brief introductions for their art works. The course has strict requirements of regular and punctual attendance. Grade points will be deducted for each absence without reasonable notice. It is hoped that students will advance their English ability to better boost their competitiveness and adaptability to the global world of art markets.
