This talk focuses on the theoretical motivations of the concept of Translanguaging and
discuses its implication for the way we view, use and teach language and literacy and
other related subjects. It maps out the origin and development of the concept and how
it is used current. The challenges the concept raises to some of the core issues
in linguistic theory and language education are at the centre of the debate.
