This presentation provides an introduction to the counseling of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons. Topics covered include: recourses, attitudes of mental health professionals, dimensions of sexual orientation, coming out, LGB identity development, multicultural awareness, health risks for LGB persons, ineffective practices, LGB-affirmative practices, and transgender issues. The presentation concludes with a discussion with the audience.
